Vezzosi

Coach Vezzosi is entering his third year at Combs High School.  He received his Master’s degree in Educational Counseling from Ottawa University and is the current Combs Guidance Counselor.

Coach Vezzosi has been in the education (teacher, counselor) and coaching profession for 15 years.  Prior to Combs High School, he served as head coach at Buena High School (Sierra Vista, AZ) for 4 years.  He helped lead the Colts to their first winning record in over a decade.  In 2005, he was named Southern Region Coach of the Year.

Coach Vezzosi was fortunate enough to be mentored for 7 years by George Martinez.  Coach Martinez has over 30 years of coaching experience from the professional to the high school level.  Coach Martinez’s most recent assignment was assistant coach for the Oakland Raiders.  Coach Vezzosi feels privileged to have worked under such a great man.

Coach Vezzosi played fullback/nose guard/linebacker for Dobson High School.  He was a member of the 1987 state championship football team.  He played his collegiate football at Scottsdale Community College before a back injury ended his playing career.

In 2001, Coach Vezzosi married Traci Lea Lovitt.  He has been blessed with two beautiful daughters (Emlyn, 8; Alessia, 4) and a gorgeous, loving wife.  He is extremely proud of Traci for being such a wonderful nurse.  His daughter Emlyn excels at school, dance and cheerleading.  Alessia loves to play her sister’s Nintendo DS.

“God has smiled on me and I love the challenge of being at Combs High School”
