Schreel

 

Coach Schreel will be entering his third season on the Coyotes staff.  He will be serving as the varsity offensive and defensive line coach in 2011 after serving as offensive coordinator in 2010.  Coach Schreel has previously served as offensive coordinator at the freshman and JV levels at Combs as well.  Prior to coming to CHS, Coach Schreel served two seasons as a freshmen offensive/defensive line coach and special teams coordinator for Tempe High School while also assisting with the varsity special teams.  In Coach Schreel's final season with the Buffaloes, he helped coach the Buffaloes to their first playoff appearance in seven years.

Coach Schreel attended high school in Dayton, Ohio at Chaminade-Julienne High School where he was a three sport athlete in football, track and field and volleyball.  Schreel played offensive line, long-snapped and kicked while playing at CJHS under Ohio High School Hall of Fame coach Jim Place.  He went on to play one year of intercollegiate football for nationally ranked NCAA Division III Ohio Northern University where he long-snapped and played outside linebacker.  Coach Schreel suffered a career-ending knee injury but continued to work with the football program as a video assistant.  He went on to work in sports radio at ONU and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts (Graphic Design) in 2003.  He has also worked for NCAAsports.com and d3football.com as a commentator and writer for football and basketball as well as working in the athletic departments at Yale University and the University of New Haven in both radio, score-keeping and as a public address announcer. 

Coach Schreel currently teaches fine arts at Combs High School while also serving as a girls basketball coach.  He is happily married to Maralena, his wife of seven years, and has two beautiful girls: Evelynne (3) and Addison (1).
