A look into the life of Mr. Taylor

I teach math....end of story! What else do you need to know?

Okay, okay, I suppose you'd maybe be interested in learning more about your child's teacher if you took the time to click on the link to this page.

This school year marks my third in the JO Combs District as well as my third year residing in "The Grand Canyon State." I moved to Arizona from Southern California in February of 2007 while completing a master's degree in secondary education from the University of Phoenix.

I completed my undergraduate studies at the collegiate baseball hotbed, Cal State Fullerton. While working toward my bachelor's I was a staff sports writer for the award winning "Daily Titan" newspaper. I was fortunate enough to interview professional basketball star Karl Malone, Oakland Athletics catcher Kurt Suzuki, Tampa Rays third baseman Evan Longoria and former first-round draft pick of the Diamondbacks, Wes Roemer.

My career as a journalist was short lived after I graduated from CSUF in 2005. I interned at the East Valley Tribune where I quickly learned that the late night hours and frequent travel of a sports journalist were not for me.

I decided to enroll in graduate school to fulfill a destiny that was foreshadowed back in high school. Upon graduation, I recieved a scholarship from the Duarte Unified School district for being the student most likely to become a teacher.

Which brings me to where I am today,Algebra 1 teacher and webmaster for Combs High School, providing your son or daughter with some of the tools necessary to become a responsible, respectful young adult.

Thank you again for taking the time to learn a little bit more about myself and my academic endeavors,

  - Brian Taylor
