About Me

I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a B.S. in Secondary Education with a major in Biology in 2000. I moved from my "home town" of Reno to Gilbert and I completed my post graduate intern program at ASU. My first two years teaching were in the Gilbert Unified School District at Gilbert High School during 2001-2003. 

After my second year of teaching, I decided to pursue my passion for fitness full-time and entered a career as a fitness business owner. I opened my pilates studio, "Premier Pilates" in 2004 and enjoyed owning my own business through the spring of 2009. I decided to return to my original career choice of teaching so that I could make a more substantial impact on the local community and the future for everyone.

I am excited to be part of a new school and science curriculum. We all have a lot of work ahead of us, but the rewards will be worth the effort!

In addition......

I still retain my passion for health and fitness and recently began running recreationally. I can also still be found practicing pilates in my private studio loft ,practicing Bikram (heated) yoga, hiking with my dogs, biking, or any myriad of other physical activities.

On a personal note...

My soccer player daughter attends JO Combs as a Sophomore and she recently won the "outstanding citizenship" award!
