Bienvenidos a clase de espanol I! This Spanish I course is geared for non-heritage speakers of Spanish or for heritage speakers who wish to imporve their basic Spanish skills. There will be a strong focus on oral work, writing, listening, and reading throughout each chapter. Additional emphasis will be placed on geographical and cultural aspects of the Spanish speaking world. All student will be engaged in creating projects, dialogues, skits, in addition to daily work and assessments. This course is for 1 high school credit. Expect daily homework 10-15 minutes.

Week of Arpil 12-16th:
4/12/10: Work in your groups to finalize your fashion show. H.W Bring your individual five sentences and your rubric and be ready to present (bring clothes/accessories to class) your skit to class on Tuesday April 13th.
4/13/10: oral presentations of fashion show skit. All groups must recite from memory the outfits they wear for each season. p. 197 translate story and complete exercises #3-4.

2/12/10: Final day to work on finalizing your script, visual aid, and practice/rehearse your skit with your partner. Project is DUE 2/16/10 you will need typed script, rubric, visual aid.

12/8/09: Write a letter to a pen pal. Must introduce selves (greeting, response), say what you are like (using adjectives), what they like to do and like/dislike to eat (gustar+infinitive), what classes you have and at what times (at least 3) (tener, class schedule, time), and you need to state at least one thing you have to do in the class(tener+que). Must also use at least 3 conjugated –ar verbs. The letter must be in standard letter form and end with a farewell. Due 12/9/09
