About Me

This is my fourth year teaching math in the J.O. Combs district. Before coming to Combs I taught general music for one year to K-6 graders in the Washington Elementary School District in Phoenix. Before teaching I spent 10 years in private industry, mostly in engineering and manufacturing.

I am originally from California where I graduated from Clovis High School in '96. I was active in both academics (AP classes, Odyssey of the Mind) and athletics (basketball and tennis) and developed a love for the arts and design. After graduating I spent time at various colleges before completing my Bachelor's degree in Management and Organizational Development. Along the way I married my beautiful wife Melissa.

After completing my degree, moving back to the place of my birth (southern California), and having my son Kelson, I decided to chase an earlier dream of mine and get into teaching. I returned to school and earned my Master's of arts in education from the University of Phoenix. Currently I am back to school again completing administration coursework through Northern Arizona University.

When I am not teaching or going to school I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children (my daughter Mattison being our second). My hobbies include sports (I follow whatever season is currently active), working in my yard, woodworking and arts (I dabble in ceramics, drawing, photography, mixed media and paint). I also preach for the church I attend.

I always try to give my best to our students. I hope that you find this site a useful communication tool. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me.
