In Class: Students presented their lit projects to the class.

Thursday/Friday May 6/7, 2010
In Class: We discussed the Japanese Internment camps and watched "Life is Beautiful".
Homework: Lit Project due next May 10/11 My example- the powerpoint....these are the attachments summary, research component, character analysis remember these are VERY rough examples just to give you a jumping off point... good luck, I am excited to see your presentations on Monday and Tuesday!

In Class: We will started watching the Italian movie "Life is Beautiful" about the Holocaust, students will have to write facts or following along with the video guide.

In Class: We finished chapter 26 notes and some classes were given a chapter 26, section 4 graphic organizer.
Homework: Chapter 26 vocab due May 6/7
Thursday/Friday April 29/30, 2010
In Class: We continued with chapter 26 powerpoint notes.
Homework: Topic Day on SB 1070, then chapter 26 vocab is due on May 6/7.

In Class: We analyzed 2 political cartoons that relate to WWII.

Monday/Tuesday April 26/27
In Class: Students finished chapter 23 & 24 Test using their books and notes. Students then started on the chapter 25 graphic organizer. Students should read the entire chapter and fill out the organizer accordingly. Feel free to put all ch 25 vocab on a seperate sheet of paper.
Homework: Read ch 25 and finish the graphic organizer, which includes all vocab- this is due on wednesday.
Thursday/Friday April 22/23
In Class: We went over the guided reading from chapter 24 as a class, then took notes on Hitler and Nazi Germany. We then started the open note, open book test on chapter 23 & 24, which we will finish on monday.

In Class: Students went to the computer lab with the counselors for a presentation.
Homework:
1. Chapter 24 guided reading that was handed out in class, see me for a copy if you are absent.

Monday/Tuesday April 19/20
In Class: Students presented topic days, then we went over WWI with closed notes and a powerpoint. Some classes were then able to start on chapter 24 guided reading for sections 1&2, other classes just need to do it for homework.

In Class: Vocabulary chapter 23 sectoins 3&4, then did closed notes with WWI powerpoint.
Homework:
1. chapter 23, sections 2 review questions 2-8 (pg. 769)

Tuesday/Wednesday April 13/14
In Class: Bellwork discussion and watched a video on the start of WWI and the Red Baron, facts must be turned in to the inbox.- if you were absent for the film, you need to write 15 facts about the Red Baron and his complicated death.
Homework:none
Monday April 12
In Class: Finished Maps from last week on Europe in WWI
Homework: vocabulary ch 23 sections 1&2
Thursday/Friday April 8/9
In Class: Students had a sub, they took an open note test on chapters 21&22, turned in the following:
1. chapter 22 packet
2. chapter 21 closed notes
3. chapter 21 vocab for extra credit (optional)
then they colored and labled a map of Europe during WWI.
Homework:
1.complete the map if they did not finish in class

Monday/Tuesday April 5/6
In Class: Students did chapter 22 packet individually. This is due on thursday/friday if they did not finish it in class. Please see me for a copy if you were absent.
Homework:
1. Finish ch 22 packet
2. study for ch 21&22 test this coming thursday/friday
3. Topic Day #12- due next week- "technology today"

In Class: Chapter 21 sections 2&3 powerpoint with closed notes.

Monday/Tuesday March 29/30
In Class: We took the ch 20 quiz, and did a guided reading for ch 21 section 1.Click on the link to download the guided reading if you did not get it in class. If you were absent, you need to make up the quiz by Thursday Coyote skills.
Homework: Topic Day #11- free choice due next Monday/Tuesday
***remember to bring your book to class everyday! I will have a random book check twice a week for 10 points each.
Thursday/Friday March 25/26
In Class: We learned chapter 20, sections 3 &4 through powerpoint, the quiz was moved to MONDAY/TUESDAY of next week, so be prepared! Bring your outline, notes and vocab next week, just in case you are able to use them for the quiz :)
Homework:
1. Topic Day #10- free choice
2. CH 21 vocab sections 1,2&3
3. go the carwash on saturday @ M&I bank from 10-1am to support student government :)
Tuesday/Wednesday March 23/24
In Class: Students went over celebrations and goals for the new quarter. Students outlined chapter 20 with the following format. If you have a personal way of outlining that you like better, that is fine. This is just a guideline.
Homework:
1. Outline at least chapter 20 sections 1 & 2. I will go over sections 3 & 4 before the quiz.
2. Topic Day #10- free choice- due next mon/tues
3. remember you can do your ch20 chart for 1/2 credit! 20 points is better than no points!
4. chapter 20 vocab- ALL sections
Spring Break Update:
Homework: Complete the chapter 20 chart that I handed out last thurs/friday after the test. This is due in the BEGINNING of class on tues/wed. You do NOT have a topic day due tues/wed.
